PROGRAM OF DAY-NULM
Promotion and strengthening of women collectives in the form of Self Help Group (SHG) is the basic platform of PDS. SHG is a democratic institution owned and managed by women with 10 to 20 women of similar socioeconomic background and voluntary effort to improve their economic and social well being. Under DAY-NULM project we formed the SHGs of women of urban poor. As a Resource Organization of MUDA since 2014, 14 ULBs are under our organization.
Once it forms we conduct different types of training with women, centered on membership regulations, accounts, rights and entitlements, local governance, gender etc.so as to enhance their self-belief and capacities, both. Once the SHGs established they get the grant (Rs.10000) in form of Revolving fund from GOI and we support for the livelihood activities training and also conduct the Financial Literacy Program collaboration with Banks so that they can understand the banking facilities and knowledge which is very necessary before credit linked to SHGs.
Till now 1852 SHGs are formed and 250 SHGs Credit linked. Awareness Programme on skill Training and Placement Self Employment under DAY-NULM at UripokAhanthemLeikai on 7th July 2018 organised by PDS. One Day Financial Literacy Program for SHGs under DAY-NULM at Public Theatre NambolPhoijing on 9th January 2020 Organised by PDS.
EShakti PROJECT SPONSORED BY NABARD
Bringing the SHGs in one platform is the main ideology of EShakti NABARD. In the year 2017-18 NABARD selected Imphal East district for digitization of SHGs. 800 SHGs were digitized in the initial stage. Till now 1693 SHGs are digitized of Imphal East and 524 credit linked. Almost the digitization of SHGs are nearly to be completed now we are focusing on credit linkage of SHGs. Village Level financial literacy cum Credit Camp has been organized in different villages of Imphal East District. Nearly 20 nos. of Village level camp has been organized and 426SHGs has been credited during the camps.
BASE LEVEL ORIENTATION TRAINING
Peoples Development Society has arranged a Base level training program for the farmers of the Imphal and surrounding areas. The aim of this training is to update the farmers with the current technology and help them in best farming experience to produce more crops.
LIVELIHOOD ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (LEDP)
PDS has made a research in the rural areas of Manipur and found that people of these areas are fighting with huge livelihood probrem. They don’t have many options of income except farming and serving at different houses; they need some permanent solution of earning. From our end, we have arranged a Livelihood Enterprise Development Program to provide them some way of earning.
15 Days LEDP on Pig-Rearing at Bishnupur District:
The Livelihood Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) has inaugurated on 2nd August 2023 at Kumbi Kangjeibung Community Hall, Kumbi Bishnupur District. The inauguration programme has organized by clubbing of 3 cluster trainee to the above-mentioned venue. The program has inaugurated by Shri W. Priyoranjan Singh, Hon’ble Chairperson Kumbi Municipal Council followed by Shri P. Loken Singh, Chairman, Manipur Small Development Council (MSDC), Dr. Th. Sushil Singh, Technical Officer (Vety), KVK Imphal East, Shri Y. Ibochou Singh, LDM, Bishnupur District, Shri P. Boicha Meitei, DDM, Bishnupur, Shri Sasanka Longjam, Branch Manager, MRB, Kumbi Branch and Shri Th. Biramangol Singh, Secretary PDS.
Valedictory Function of LEDP on Pig-Rearing at Bishnupur District:
Valedictory function organized on 6th October 2023 at JMC Hall, Kumbi, the programme participated by Shri Y. Ibochou Singh, LDM, Bishnupur District, Smt. Th. Joymati Devi, Branch Manager, PNB, Moirang Branch, Shri Sasanka Longjam Branch Manager, MRB, Kumbi, Dr. L. Gojen Singh, Joint Director, (Vety) Bishnupur District and Shri Th. Biramangol Singh, Secretary PDS. Dr. L. Gojen Singh as Chief Guest and Secretary PDS presided over the function.
During the valedictory function certificate of participation distributed to each trainee who were attended the training program by Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and President. Dr. L. Gojen Singh has expressed for project formulation and recommendation will be supported by his office as much as possible. As part of training the entire trainee members bifurcated in to 3 groups of each cluster. A feedback presentation by trainee members in chat paper in different topic also presented in presence of dignitaries and Subject Matter Specialist (SMS). The branch Manager, PNB Moirang and branch Manager Kumbi & Moirang MRB has expressed their desire to extend support for Agri & Allied credit to each beneficiary. The program has entirely covered by electronic media ISTV & TOM TV and as print media Sangai Express (both English & Manipuri) & Sanaleibak daily, included in their publication with photographs on 7th October 2023.
