Prize Distribution by Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba

As part of the Valedictory Function of the 2nd State Level Thang-Ta Lalong Yendemnaba Tournament – 2024, prizes were distributed by Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Manipur.

The moment was one of pride and encouragement for the winners, as the Hon’ble MP personally felicitated the achievers for their outstanding performance and dedication. His gracious presence added dignity to the occasion, inspiring both participants and spectators to uphold the rich martial tradition of Manipur.

The opening ceremony of the Valedictory Function of the 2nd State Level Thang-Ta Lalong Yendemnaba Tournament – 2024 began with a vibrant presentation of Ta-Khousaba, a traditional Thang-Ta performance. The show highlighted the dynamic techniques and artistic expressions of Manipuri martial traditions, blending rhythmic movements with disciplined combat skills.

Thangjou Yendemnaba Display Highlights Opening of Valedictory Function

The opening ceremony of the Valedictory Function of the 2nd State Level Thang-Ta Lalong Yendemnaba Tournament – 2024 featured an electrifying display of Thangjou Yendemnaba, showcasing intense fights between skilled fighters. The performance reflected the power, precision, and discipline of Thang-Ta, a martial art form deeply rooted in Manipur’s cultural heritage.

The demonstration enthralled the audience and dignitaries present on the dais, setting an energetic and inspiring tone for the day’s proceedings. The spirited fights symbolized not just physical strength, but also the values of courage, respect, and tradition that Thang-Ta embodies.

Thang Yendemnaba Performance Marks Opening of Valedictory Function

The Valedictory Function of the 2nd State Level Thang-Ta Lalong Yendemnaba Tournament – 2024 commenced with a spectacular display of Thang Yendemnaba, featuring one lady fighter alongside two male fighters. The enthralling performance showcased the unique martial art tradition of Thang-Ta, combining strength, agility, and discipline with graceful movements.

The demonstration captivated the audience, symbolizing the rich cultural heritage of Manipur and the spirit of martial artistry deeply rooted in the state. The act not only set an inspiring tone for the day’s proceedings but also highlighted the role of women in preserving and promoting the martial traditions of Manipur alongside their male counterparts.

MICRO ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (MEDP)

Under the sponsorship of NABARD, 13-Days MEDP on focusing to groom entrepreneurs from the SHG group members under various skills. Till we have done 4 MEDP on various skills such as tailoring, pickles making, paper Bags etc. During the financial year 2019-20 Cloth carry training program was conducted with beneficiary. Distribution of Certificate to Trainees by Shri Harikumar Singh, Director MAHUD, in connection with Valedictory Function of 13 Days MEDP program Eco-friendly making of biodegradable paper Bags, Cups and Plate etc. at PDS conference Hall on 9th October 2018, Sponsored by NABARD and Organised by PDS. PDS has arranged various workshops about family & health welfare to make people aware to become healthy and free of disease. Family should be everyone’s priority in life. Family supports us in every situation, loves us and stays with us.

Family welfare is a term used to understand the basic responsibilities of a couple as parents. Health welfare is providing knowledge about the overall health benefits and health care services provided by the government. We organize free health care services for the people of rural areas where they can get free health check-ups, free medicine, knowledge about family health, birth control, HIV/AIDS, mental and physical health, etc.

CLASSICAL SILAI SCHOOL TRAINING

Usha International Ltd sponsored the Classical Silai School where 10 women are selected in a district and gave 7 days master trainer training with one sewing machine free of course to open Classical Silai School (CSS) so that she can teach to other women locally and developed an entrepreneur and many are succeed. Many are women earned 15000-30000/month and economically independent help in family expenditure. Till 90 CSS are open and during this year 20 women are benefited from Ukhrul and Jiribam district. Valedictory Function Machine Distribution to the Trainee under Usha Silai School Program by Shri Yumnam Khemchand Singh, Hon’ble Speaker Manipur Legislative Assembly.

Self Help Group Promoting Institute (SHPI)

PDS as an SHPI since 2013 started from Chandel and Ukhrul District of Manipur with only 10 SHGs. In the FY 2019-20 NABARD had sanctioned 100 SHGs for Jiribam district and 150 SHGs for Bishnupur district. Till now from SHPI project we had formed SHGs from different districts of Manipur and successfully conducted the capacity building program, Financial Literacy Program, Livelihood activities training and credit linked. Smt. Thokchom Subita Devi, Program Manager, PDS in Connection with SHPI at Keibul on 21 April 2018.

BUSINESS CORRESPONDENT TRAINING

PDS has organized a business correspondent training program for the local youths to make them independent. The society has invited some bank managers and small business owners to share some tips with the excited youths.
